Overview

Commination competency is among the essential competencies that are expected to be mastered by each physician. However, it has been missed from some undergraduate and postgraduate curricula or at least has not been taught adequately. Lack of communication skills make physicians at higher risk of malpractice litigation by patients and their families.

  • By the end of the lecture, learners will be able to:
    Describe communicator role as major competency for each physician.
    Illustrate the basic concept of teaching and learning good communication especially in difficult situations.
    Demonstrate the necessary skills to be a good communicator.
