Overview

Peripheral blood film (PBF) is a basic and a highly informative haematological tool at the clinician’s disposal in screening, diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression and therapeutic response. An adept understanding of peripheral blood interpretation is important for a successful clinical practice.   Identify and differentiate red cells, white cells, and platelets using light microscopy.
  Correlate morphology of peripheral blood with each disease state involving RBCs, WBCs, and platelets.
  Demonstrate the necessary skills to troubleshoot technical errors.
