Medical images are not simple to understand, as they contain a lot of information, and therefore the idea of using computers to analyse them became apparent. There are many types of medical image, for example CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to more cutting edge types such as optical coherence tomography and magnetoencephalography (MEG), and they all produce differing images that need to be analysed differently.
Medical imaging has improved immensely since the first x-rays were taken over 120 years ago. There is much more accuracy in diagnosing a medical problem and because of these advances, there is also much less need to perform exploratory surgery. This hopefully will lead to early diagnosis and better treatment options for many patients.
join us now and take a trip down memory lane and find out how the medical field and the technology industry have been working together to build a better, healthier world!
By the end of the session, candidates should be able to:
- Recognize the underlying physics of medical imaging modalities.
- Learn basics of X ray, MRI and CT system theory and integration between the Science branches.
It is an interactive online session which encouraging the interaction style between the participants and the speaker. about one and half hour
