This interactive session will cover the basics of inflammatory markers namely ESR, CRP, Complement, and ferritin with emphasis on diseases associated with, characteristics and limitations and real examples.

Objectives

By the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- To understand the mechanism of erythrocytes sedimentation rate elevation, limitations, and benefits
- To recognize the characteristics of other acute phase reactants including CRP, complement, ferritin, haptoglobin and albumin and their application in clinical practice.
