News -> VMA's First Year Celebration
More than one year ago, a unique idea was born. With dedicated people and through hard work this idea saw light on the 3rd of March 2013. The Virtual Medical Academy (VMA) opened its gates –or should we say its pages? - with an ambitious vision. Utilizing technology and communication tools, the academy incorporated them with education to achieve that vision. The VMA set a goal to be a learning source for those who are passionate and selective about their learning process in all healthcare specialties, and to be a creative option that contributes to the development of the medical community scientifically and practically.
On March 3rd of 2014, the VMA celebrated its first anniversary, going back in time to review the achievements of the first year. The year in numbers revealed that in one year, the VMA broadcasted more than 200 events from different locations and with different topics, with approximately 13000 total attendees to those events, around 80% percent of whom are now attending the full broadcast sessions they signed for. Users’ evaluation of the attended lectures ranged from Excellent(60%) to Good (33%) with only 7% evaluating it as fair, and majority of participant agreeing that the online classes are very helpful methods of learning.
Assessment of the goals that were set for the first year shows a high percentage of completion, and a sense of achievement. Active team members were honorably mentioned for their effort, encouraging others to actively participate and take initiative in establishing future projects.
As the VMA grows, hopes and plans are expressed to take it to a future full of success and expansion.
