Is Obesity a Mental Disorder? To answer this question, psychiatrists and other clinicians interested in obesity have to learn the complex relationship between obesity and mental disorders.

Objectives

By the end of the lecture, learners will be able to:
1. Define the common psychosocial aspects in obese populations.
2. Recognize the importance of monitoring psychosocial aspects related to obesity.
3. Recognize the seriousness of weight bias & stigmatization.
4. Develop skills to apply behavioral interventions and manage psychosocial aspects especially pre & post obesity surgery.
