Introduction (Brief)
The Saudi healthcare sector is undergoing a significant transformation to meet the population's persistently expanding and changing needs. One of the enablers for healthcare transformation is having uniform patients journey through the Integrated Clinical Care Pathway (ICCP), which is the patient journey throughout different layers of care for a specific condition until the condition is resolved or the continuation of care is needed.
Quality management of ICCPs is the cluster-wide pursuit of quality improvement and assurance through management practices that facilitate knowledge exchange and leadership principles that foster a learning culture.
As a part of the HHC’s integral contribution of participating in coaching, facilitation, and providing any improvement suggestions related to ICCPs to ensure efficient implementation, control, and improvement of ICCPs in the cluster, the HHC developed a quality management system for ICCPs. Tens of healthcare providers from the MoC across Saudi Arabia were fully trained and certified as improvement coaches (ICs) or improvement advisors (IAs). Additional waves of training will be conducted to certify ICs and IAs to be responsible for supporting the improvement strategies of ICCPs.
By the end of this conference, participating healthcare providers and administrators will be able to:
- Describe the meaning and purpose of integrated clinical care pathways.
- Identify the importance of quality improvement of ICCPs.
- Describe the main concepts and implementation considerations of ICCP’s quality improvement system.
- Recognise the role of Improvement Coaches (ICs) and Improvement Advisors (IAs) in the design and implementation of ICCPs.
- Identify the main challenges that might be faced upon implementing ICCP’s quality improvement systems and how to solve them.
-Sharing successful experiences and expertise in improving the quality of ICCP’s.
