This course provides an evidence-based approach to wound management to assist health care providers in staying current with the latest standards of care and sharpening their bedside skills and clinical judgment in the use of the most recent therapies. It also has a special feature that includes a professional practice core curriculum that is pertinent to building wound care programs and incorporates the most recent standards of practice and patient-centered principles for an integrated interdisciplinary care approach to wounds.

In this 2-days course, the aim is to build the capacity and competency of all healthcare providers in wound care management at the bedside using the most recent evidence-based updates and provide comprehensive content to build and manage a wound care program at the healthcare system level.
This course is divided into a clinical and professional practice components:
- The clinical component will cover the anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system, wound pathology, and the wound healing process. Discuss the principles of management for a variety of wounds, appropriate measures of care for each, and various dressing/treatment plans for a wound based on exudate, wound status, and available wound products.
- The professional practice component will cover how to formulate effective wound care plans, provide patient-centered education for patients requiring wound management, the application of telehealth for enhanced wound care, understand the relevance of wound care safe nurse staffing, and quality improvement for a comprehensive wound management program.
