Medical Acid Base Explained Clearly is a course designed to clarify, review, and augment the training and understanding of primary care clinicians in their understanding of medical acid base problems. The modules included in this course take a departure from the traditional slide presentation style lecture. Instead, the course is comprised of a series of video lectures aided by real-time instructor-led chalkboard visuals. This method of learning allows for the subject matter to be broken down to the basics and is designed to increase learning and retention.
Many primary care clinicians lack a clear understanding of the medical acid-base. This course aims to improve their understanding of the medical acid base and its associated problems, the underlying causes for medical acid base problems, and appropriate and effective treatment. This CME course will utilize a combination of videos, quizzes, and systematic discussion of clinical scenarios and practice cases to effectively deliver the course content.

Objectives

As a result of this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Use a systematic approach to the medical acid-base and its associated disorders.
- Calculate the anion gap and apply it to any medical acid-base disorder present in a patient.
- Identify multiple concurrent medical acid-base disorders in a patient.

The Medical Acid Base Explained Clearly course is comprised of 18 pre-recorded videos officially licensed to VMA by MedCram.com. Each pre-recorded video will be followed by a quiz to reinforce students understanding of key medical concepts. Purchase of the course grants you 3 weeks access to all recorded videos.
